Hara's Client Opens The Treasure Chest

Point Pleasant, New Jersey resident Juanita Nawolski won a fierce desert hunt to find a treasure chest with a million dollar prize.

The 65-year-old retiree is one of 100 contestants who participated in the final round of Hara's treasure hunt. The contestants selected each treasure map at random with a guide and pulled dust from a four-wheel-drive car as they set off to discover hidden wealth in the Mojave Desert.

Sneaking through the rugged terrain among a series of hidden treasure chests, Nawalski eventually found $1 million. Tears welled up in her eyes when she opened the scroll that revealed she had won the grand prize. 슬롯

"I kept saying to my husband, 'You never know,'" Nawalski said. "Then I saw one behind and all those zeros and I couldn't believe it. I just couldn't believe it."

Tuesday's (May 4, 2004) pursuit marked the end of Hara's treasure hunt promotion, which began at participating properties this winter. It was Hara's second treasure hunt. In 2001, nearly 400,000 casino players across the country participated in the first treasure hunt promotion. Shirley Miller of Las Vegas took home a prize worth a million dollars.

They played slot machines or video games and used Harrah's Total Rewards card in Las Vegas or Rio in Las Vegas, Harveys in Lake Tahoe and Showboat in Atlantic City to sign up for participation, and received free entries because they did not need to play to participate in the Treasure Hunt promotion.

Nawolski qualified to hunt at Showboat The Mardi Gras Casino, a property run by Harrah.

Each treasure hunter and a guest were given a trip to Las Vegas in Hara, with all costs paid to participate in the search. When the event ended, each participant won at least $400.
