"HAPPY SANDWICH," an Okinawa-made film with the theme of food and life, began screening in 2023 and continues to be shown in various places and forms.

◆Story

"YAMBARU" (= an area with a lot of nature remaining) is located in the northern part of Okinawa's main island. A chef (MANNA) who runs a restaurant here is told by KAMINCHU (a person who oversees religious ceremonies) to "make a sandwich to offer to the gods."

Seeking hints for a sandwich worthy of being offered to the gods, MANNA goes to meet various people involved in "food." After hearing the thoughts and lifestyles of producers and chefs about "food," MANNA begins to think deeply about "food and the way humans live."

◆About the film

In recent years, society has become one of rapid consumerism, and nature, food, and local communities have become diluted.

This film was created with the hope that it would provide hints for a global approach to food, lifestyle, and living, and has been delivered to the world across oceans and borders.
