It is so nice to have a small murder of crows again. I am looking forward to visiting them in the winter months which might otherwise be a bit lonely bird-wise. There were not a lot of other bird species yesterday, so I am sure the crows were also happy to have my almost-complete attention.

I've noticed that a lot of classical music (and movie scores, for that matter) that is meant to sound scary uses the Dies Irae, a Gregorian chant describing the Day of Wrath. It definitely works for me to conjure spooky images!

I-House Front Desk this year is more festive than ever, decorated with spiderwebs and mini vampires (BOO!). There are lots of activities planned and not only the students but even I-House staff is ready to go crazy for our monthly coffee hour that has been turned into a Halloweeny staff gathering with spooky music, decorations and even prizes for the best costumes.

Finally, after almost an hour and a half of waiting, we got to the front of the line. Sitting on straw hay bales in the wagon and hearing Halloween music playing from a small speaker set the mood. The wagon slowly brought us to our final destination, and anticipation grew as we neared the start of the haunted forest walk.
