Our summer school aims to cover three topics that we consider fundamental in restriction theory: Tomas--Stein theorem and extensions, extremizers for the Tomas--Stein theorem and bilinear estimates in restriction theory. It is oriented towards undergraduate and graduate students and possibly early post-docs with a strong preference to PhD students. The projected number of participants will range between 18 and 24. Three experts on the topics have been invited to deliver mini-courses and coordinate the learning activities: David Beltran, Javier Ramos and Julien Sabin.
The number of participants cannot exceed 24 and priority will be given to early PhD students. For this reason we kindly ask you to apply for participation by following the corresponding link

There will be no registration fee for the participants of the summer school (up to a maximum of 24 participants). However, since we will have a limited number of participants we kind ask you, if interested, to apply for participation by following the link above.
Each mini-course will consists of (4) four 50-minute lectures. They will take place during the first two days of the summer school: Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd of July. The next three days (Wednesday 3rd, Thursday 4th and Friday 5th of July) the participants will work in groups and in collaboration with the lecturers on special topics related to the themes above. These topics will be proposed by the lecturers themselves and will be posted on this page.
The abstracts of the lectures and the suggested topics for the working groups can be found here
https://sites.google.com/view/hapde2019/pgorgram/topics
Each student has to choose between two possible topics among the topics proposed below. According to these choices we will form working groups; each group will study one of the suggested topics with the help of the corresponding lecturer and give a presentation on the topic during the morning of Friday. The style of the presentation (for example blackboard, beamer presentation, poster, combination of the above) will be decided between the members of the group.
There will be 10 fellowships for participating students. These fellowships will cover the accommodation in Bilbao during the summer school and three meals per day. The deadline for applying for a fellowship is 22nd of April 2019. We kindly ask the participants which are interested in applying for a fellowship to indicate so when filling the application form. You will then be prompted to upload your CV and letter of motivation, including the name and email address of a contact person, for example PhD advisor or similar. Please include this information in your letter. We stress that the funded fellows will have to participate to all the teaching activities of the summer school and will have to be present in Bilbao from Monday morning until Friday afternoon of the week of the summer school.
