Welcome to Haotian's website!

I am a PhD researcher in Economics at Ghent University in Belgium. I obtained my Master of Finance (& Minor in Economics) from Peking University HSBC Business School in China in 2021. , 

My research fields are Labour Economics and Public Economics. My research follows two complementary tracks: (i) firm entry, labour costs, and payroll tax incidence; and (ii) human capital, child development, and family economics.  I do both empirical and theoretical work and use both administrative and survey data. I also study Causal Inference and design new causal methods.

I am on the Econ Job Market of 2026.
