Welcome to HaoQi. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the HaoQi mobile application ("HaoQi", the "App", "we", "us", or "our").
By downloading, accessing, or using HaoQi, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the App.
HaoQi is a Chinese language-learning application designed to help beginners, travelers, students, and other learners study practical Mandarin Chinese.
The App may provide features including:
Curated Chinese words and phrases organized into themed packs
Chinese pronunciation and romanization
Practice activities such as quizzes, flashcards, and listening exercises
Spaced repetition and learning progress features
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets
Favorites and saved content
Daily streaks and other learning-progress features
The ability to create and manage your own words and phrases
Free and paid features or content
Features may be added, modified, or removed as the App develops.
HaoQi is provided for educational and informational purposes.
While we aim to provide accurate and useful Chinese translations, pronunciations, romanization, examples, and learning material, we cannot guarantee that all content will always be completely accurate, appropriate for every context, or free from errors.
Chinese expressions can vary depending on region, context, formality, and speaker. HaoQi should therefore be used as a learning aid rather than as an authoritative translation or interpretation service.
You remain responsible for how you use language learned through the App.
HaoQi does not currently require you to create an account to use the App.
App data such as favorites, custom phrases, learning progress, practice history, and settings may be stored locally on your device.
Deleting the App, resetting your device, or losing access to your device may result in the loss of locally stored data unless that data is otherwise backed up by your device or operating system.
HaoQi may allow you to create your own words, phrases, translations, notes, or other learning content.
You are responsible for content you create or enter into the App. You should not use the App to create or store content that is unlawful or infringes the rights of others.
We do not guarantee the accuracy of user-created content.
HaoQi may offer paid features, premium access, subscriptions, or other in-app purchases.
Purchases made through Apple's App Store are processed by Apple and are also subject to Apple's applicable terms and conditions.
Prices, billing periods, available features, and other purchase information will be displayed in the App or through the App Store before purchase.
If HaoQi offers an automatically renewing subscription, the subscription will renew according to the terms presented at the time of purchase unless it is cancelled through your Apple account settings before renewal.
Payment, subscription management, cancellation, and applicable refunds are handled through Apple and are subject to Apple's policies.
Some HaoQi features or content may be available for free, while others may require a purchase or subscription.
We may change which features are included in the free or paid versions of the App. Any changes affecting an existing purchase or subscription will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the terms presented with that purchase.
You may use HaoQi for personal, non-commercial language-learning purposes.
You may not:
Copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, or commercially exploit substantial portions of HaoQi's content without permission
Reverse engineer, interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
Use the App for unlawful purposes
Circumvent purchase restrictions or attempt to access paid features without authorization
Use HaoQi's branding, graphics, content, or other intellectual property in a way that falsely suggests affiliation with or endorsement by HaoQi
Unless otherwise stated, HaoQi and its original content, design, graphics, icons, interface, learning materials, branding, and software are owned by or licensed to the developer of HaoQi and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the App. They do not transfer ownership of HaoQi or its content to you.
We aim to keep HaoQi available and functioning reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We may update, modify, improve, suspend, or discontinue features or portions of the App when reasonably necessary, including for technical, security, legal, or product-development reasons.
Updates to iOS, Apple services, devices, or other third-party technologies may also affect how certain features work.
HaoQi may rely on services or technologies provided by third parties, including Apple.
Your use of those services may also be governed by the respective third party's terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for third-party services that are outside our control.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, HaoQi is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We do not guarantee that the App will always be available, completely error-free, or that every translation, pronunciation, romanization, example, or learning result will be accurate or suitable for every situation.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees, or other rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer law.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses resulting from your use of or inability to use HaoQi.
We are not responsible for decisions, communications, misunderstandings, travel issues, business matters, or other consequences resulting from reliance on language-learning content provided by the App.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
Your use of HaoQi is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how information and app data are handled.
You may stop using HaoQi at any time by deleting the App.
We may restrict or discontinue access to the App where reasonably necessary, including in cases of misuse, security concerns, legal requirements, or discontinuation of the service.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to HaoQi, legal requirements, or our practices.
When the Terms are updated, the "Last updated" date at the top of this document will be revised.
Your continued use of HaoQi after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you may have under the laws that apply to you.
