2025-2026 Membership Form (For New & Renewing Members)
Don't forget to renew your membership if you were a member last year!
The Hansen CAPT is proud to help coordinate Room Parents for each classroom. Up to three Room Parents will be selected per class to help support teachers, families, and the school community.
Being a Room Parent is a great opportunity to collaborate with teachers, connect with other families, and be involved with CAPT and the broader Hansen community. If you are interested, please fill out this form by Friday, September 26. Under the guidance of Principal Rebello, three Room Parents will be randomly selected for each classroom. All applicants will be notified by Monday, September 28.
A virtual Room Parent orientation will be held on Thursday, October 2 at 6pm. Details about the role are outlined below and will be reviewed further at the orientation. Please note: prior Room Parent experience does not guarantee selection and does not make you ineligible.
Hansen staff and CAPT aim to provide varied opportunities for parents/guardians to engage in their child’s school experience—whether through the Room Parent role, additional in-school volunteering, or field trip chaperoning.
Volunteer Requirements:
All in-school volunteers must have a current CORI check on file with the front office (valid for 3 years).
Any field trip volunteer must also complete a fingerprinting check (one-time, at your own expense). More information is available here: Canton Volunteer Information.
Field trip chaperones are selected by the classroom teacher based on eligibility and the needs of each trip.
CORIs are required for all visitors (parents, guardians, vendors, etc.) to schools. CORIs are good for 3 years.
CORI is a name-based criminal record check (CORI).
Please submit your completed CORI form and a photocopy of the front and back of your driver's license either in-person or via e-mail to Barbie Cavanaugh, Hansen front office, or e-mail Barbie Cavanaugh, cavanaghb@cantonma.org. Make sure to reference the reason for submission (Room Parent for Mr./Ms. X's class, etc.)
Fingerprinting is required only when there is potentially unmonitored/unsupervised time with students (e.g., field trip chaperone). Fingerprinting only has to be done once. Note: Schedule your appointment online as soon as possible as it may take time.
