The Hannibal Free Public Library is seeking a Business and Programming Associate 1 to fill a dynamic, dual-role position. If you excel at financial administration and love bringing creative programs to life, this is the perfect opportunity.
This role is ideal for a candidate who is comfortable in a front-facing public service role while also managing critical financial and administrative responsibilities for the Library Director.
Administrative & Financial Support: Manage essential financial duties including preparing payroll, handling invoices (Claims), overseeing deposits, and maintaining accurate confidential records and accounts.
Programming & Events: Develop, coordinate, and lead a variety of engaging programs for all ages, including assisting with the major Summer Reading Program.
Customer Service: Provide excellent front-line service, managing circulation, offering reference assistance, and providing basic technology help at the public service desks.
Director Support: Serve as the Library Director’s key administrative assistant, preparing materials for the Library Board and managing general office support.
High school diploma/GED plus post-secondary coursework or experience in bookkeeping, business administration, or a similar field.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other office software.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to confidentiality.
Must be able to pass a background check and qualify for bonding.
Full-Time (40 hrs/week)
Must be available to work evenings and weekends (2-3 Saturdays per month).
