We have a passion for service. We support our local veteran's services by attending and participating in local ceremonies, presentations and parades. We collect donations for the Louis Stokes Veterans Hospital in Cleveland. And we enjoy genealogy and keeping our Patriots' history alive. During our monthly meetings, we enjoy programs with speakers, activities, or maybe share a meal.
Hannah Luther was born circa 1769 in Connecticut, and in 1795 married American Revolutionary War Veteran, John Bosworth, of Massachusetts, Herkimer, New York. The book, History of Strongsville, published in 1903, states John and Hannah settled in Strongsville, Ohio, in 1817 with their seven sons and two daughters.
John was a storekeeper and was elected a supervisor at the first township meeting on February 15, 1818. He was very active in the early development of Strongsville.
John is a NSDAR recognized Revolutionary War patriot, having served with the Rhoad Island Elliott's Artillery Regiment under Colonel Robert Elliott.
Hannah Luther Bosworth died January 7, 1847, and is buried in the Strongsville Cemetery.
