Leadership

The summer after my junior year of high school, I was selected to be yearbook editor-in-chief of my school's yearbook. I was so honored to be chosen for this position. The transition from staff member to leader was not easy, and it took several months to be comfortable with my new role. I had to learn how to delegate responsibilities to those below me. This included but was not limited to small tasks such as proofreading, writing captions, and designing layouts. It was difficult at first to lose the jobs and positions that I had held for two years prior, but by freeing myself from smaller tasks, I was able to supervise and help my staff with larger projects and issues that arose.
