Oceanside, NY Kindergarten Center Graduate, 2000.

Hi, there!

My name is Hannah Goodman.

Since graduating from the Oceanside Kindergarten Center in the year 2000 (pictured left), I've continued on with my education through Oceanside School #5, and Oceanside's Middle and High Schools. I currently hold a position as a Reading AIS Provider at Oceanside School #2.

In my undergraduate studies, I majored in Art History and English with Creative Writing, and minored in Studio Art at the State University of New York at New Paltz. With a newfound plethora of knowledge about myself as a liberal artist, I went on to receive a master's degree in teaching General Education Grades 1 through 6 at the City University of New York at Queens College.

My interests have always varied greatly. Outside of teaching elementary, I currently teach mindful movement, partner acrobatics, practice photography, colored-pencil portraits, jewelry making, and various instruments. I teach to people of all ages and abilities, weekend and weekday. I've even extended my yoga teachings to the deaf community on Long Island!

After learning about the platform StoryCorps at a professional development class, I had one of my students interview me. She asked the most unexpected, and enlightening questions. This interview captured a very organic conversation that had me reflect upon my "why" for becoming a teacher.
