My name is Hannah Pagel and I am an astrophysicist and a STEM educator. My passion lies in taking a lifetime of astronomy knowledge and experiences to develop programs aimed at inspiring others to be curious about the universe.
Astronomy has always been a central part of my life and it has led me on adventures across the country. Stargazing on my family farm led me to study physics and research asteroid collisions at Calvin University. From Calvin, I moved to New Mexico to work on the ChemCam instrument of the Mars rover Curiosity at Los Alamos National Lab. That in turn led me to further my education and move back to the midwest where I researched "almost-dark galaxies" and earned my M.A. in astronomy at Indiana University. The mountains called me back out west, though, and I made my way out to Jackson Hole, Wyoming in the fall of 2018 to lead astronomy programs for Wyoming Stargazing and then began teaching middle and high school science at Mountain Academy of Teton Science Schools.
Throughout my experience as an astronomer and a lifelong learner, my inquisitive nature has driven my love for designing and implementing STEM programs for people of all ages and backgrounds. If you would like to learn more about my background and these programs, please explore this website. And, if you would like to talk to me about any of my programs or simply want to talk about the wonders of our universe, please send me an email at the address found below.
