Vault automatically creates viewable renditions for Hangul Word Processor (HWP) source files. Hangul Word Processor is a South Korean word processing application with specialized support for the Korean language. Hangul saves documents in HWP format, with the filename extension *.hwp. See About Auto-Generated Viewable Renditions for information about working with standard viewable renditions.

Abstract:While the exchange of data files or programs on the Internet grows exponentially, most users are vulnerable to infected files, especially to malicious non-executables. Due to the circumstances between South and North Korea, many malicious actions have recently been found in Hangul Word Processor (HWP) non-executable files because the HWP is widely used in schools, military facilities, and government institutions of South Korea. The HWP file usually has one or more byte streams that are often used for the malicious actions. Based on an assumption that infected byte streams have particular patterns, we design a convolutional neural network (CNN) to grasp such patterns. We conduct experiments on our prepared 534 HWP files, and demonstrate that the proposed CNN achieves the best performance compared to other machine learning models. As new malicious attacks keep emerging, we will keep collecting such HWP files and investigate better model structures. Keywords: malware detection; HWP file; byte stream; convolutional neural network

The malware that installs Orcus RAT and XMRig CoinMiner is uploaded to multiple file-sharing sites under the disguise of a crack for Hangul Word Processor 2022. Hangul Word Processor is a major Korean word processing program like Microsoft Office Word.

Security experts from FireEye speculate that The North Korea has carried out cyber attacks against entities of the South Korea by exploiting a zero-day ( CVE-2015-6585) in a word processing program widely used in that country, the Hangul Word Processor.

The Hangul Word Processor (HWP) is a word processing application which is fairly popular in South Korea. It possesses the ability to run PostScript code, which is a language originally used for printing and desktop publishing, although it is a fully capable language. Unfortunately, this ability is now being exploited in attacks involving malicious attachments.

HPW files are created by Hangul Office, a word processor mainly used in South Korea. Hangul Office provides specialized support for the Korean language. HWP is a proprietary word processing format published by the company Hancom Inc..

DOC is a word processing file created by Microsoft. This files format turns a plain-text format into a formatted document. It supports almost all the Operating Systems. It can contain large amount of text, data, charts, table, image etc. It can contain rich text format (RTF) and HTML texts also.

Initial Access consists of techniques that use various entry vectors to gain their initial foothold within a network. Techniques used to gain a foothold include targeted spearphishing and exploiting weaknesses on public-facing web servers. Footholds gained through initial access may allow for continued access, like valid accounts and use of external remote services, or may be limited-use due to changing passwords.

At one time, the need for HWP was understandable. Korean character sets were not well supported until recently on most word processors. HWP supported Korean text very well when no others did. Now the world has moved on and good word processors do well with other languages. Korea, however, is stuck in that familiar interface and file icon.

Most of what I've read speak about font design and command lines which makes it seem that the writer is doing a bit more than just inputting obsolete characters on a word processor, and yet behold: -fonts/source-han-sans/issues/34 . The poster and commentators are trying to figure out Hangul Jamo composition in verticle form, yet they have already composed syllable blocks horizontally in a word processor, but how is nowhere to be seen.

"While not conclusive, the targeting of a South Korean proprietary word processing software strongly suggests a specific interest in South Korean targets, and based on code similarities and infrastructure overlap, FireEye intelligence assesses that this activity may be associated with North Korea-based threat actors," the pair say in an advisory (PDF).

For obvious reasons, using the APIs related to file operations requires that a session key must first obtained from the service through logging in. Using the userinfo API with the email and password of the account, the malware attempts to obtain the session key that will be used in subsequent API calls. Note that the requests below are done using HTTPS, but we forced the malware to use HTTP for the purpose of showing details of the requests.

it consists of Hangul 96(a word processor), Han-Grim 96 (a kind of mspaint), Hancom Dictionary 96 and so on.

I was informed that the serial is 97534541-00612730 but it is not working. so I couldn't had tested yet.

Kimsuky has demonstrated the ability to establish Persistence [TA0003] through using malicious browser extensions, modifying system processes, manipulating the autostart execution, using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), and changing the default file association for an application. By using these methods, Kimsuky can gain login and password information and/or launch malware outside of some application allowlisting solutions.

An HWP file may also be a document created by Hancom Hanword, a Korean word processing application. HWP files typically contain text written using Hangul, the Korean alphabet. They may also contain graphics and document formatting information.

Hanword, formerly known as Hangul Word Processor, is part of the Hancom Office suite. The Hancom Office suite is akin to Microsoft Office, and Hanword is akin to Microsoft Word. Users who need to write documents in Korean use Hanword to create HWP files.

You can use Microsoft's free Hanword HWP Document Converter for Microsoft Word to convert HWP files to .DOCX files. You can use Cloud HWP Viewer to save an HWP file as a .ZIP file that includes an .HTML version of the file's contents.

A new RAT has been spotted scurrying around word processing programs. Cisco Talos recently discovered a new remote administration tool (RAT) called ROKRAT, which is specifically designed to be very hard to detect. The RAT plays off a Korean-language Microsoft Word alternative called the Hangul word processor (HWP).

Citation managers allow you to create and track references, or 'citations', and to create bibliographies or reference lists formatted in the style appropriate to that discipline, such as APA, MLA, Chicago, Turabian, and many others. Citation managers allow you to import resource records directly from academic databases such as Academic Search Premier, PsycINFO, JSTOR, Web of Science, and most others. You may organize your records into folders and groups and add notes and other metadata, such as abstracts, keywords and often documents themselves (pdfs) to enhance and improve the efficiency of your research.

This threat is just one of the many zero-day attacks that have affected South Korea. For example, last year, attackers used a well-designed threat known as Backdoor.Duuzer to target South Korean organizations. They spread Duuzer variants through zero-day exploits for the South Korean word processor Hangul.

Kozuka is a Japanese font, which means that it shares many Chinese forms ("kanji") with Korean, but I wouldn't count on it including all the chars. in Korean hangul. I don't know about CC versions, but older Western-language versions of InDesign didn't come with the attributes for CJK languages built-in. However, the first time you import a word-processor file containing text set to Chinese, Japanese or Korean it would pick up that attribute and make it available thereafter. e24fc04721
