Viral Video Shows Professor 'Marrying' Student In Class, Probe Ordered 

 Several videos have gone viral online in which a professor is allegedly seen marrying a student in a classroom in West Bengal. There are wedding ceremonies like 'Haldi' and exchanging garlands. Keeping university officials on alert

An official said the alleged incident took place in the psychology department of Haringhata College of Technology in Nadia, about 150 km from Kolkata. The college is part of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT)

In the video, the professor, identified as Payal Banerjee, was seen wearing a wedding dress and a garland on her head, but she denied that it was a real wedding. and said that such acts were part of academic activities organized for internal use.

She has been suspended pending an inquiry. The government has set up a three-member committee. An official said: We cannot take any action. If a proper inquiry is not conducted, the situation could be serious.
