HaneulWave – Media Player ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our application handles information when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Personal Information

We do not collect, store, or share any personally identifiable information (PII) such as:

• Name or Phone number

• Email address

• Account details or passwords

Note: Our app does not require user registration or account creation to function.

2. Device Permissions & Local Access

HaneulWave requires specific permissions to function properly. These are used strictly locally on your device:

• Media Access Permissions:

  • READ_MEDIA_VIDEO / READ_MEDIA_AUDIO

  • READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below)

  • Purpose: To scan, index, and display media files stored on your device for playback. We do not upload or share your files.

• Internet & Network Permissions:

  • INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

  • Purpose: Used only for loading advertisements and verifying network status.

• Foreground Service Permissions:

  • FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK / WAKE_LOCK

  • Purpose: To maintain uninterrupted audio/video playback when the app is in the background or the screen is off.

• Notifications:

  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS

  • Purpose: To show media playback controls (Play/Pause/Skip) in your device's notification shade.

3. Advertising (Third-Party Services)

HaneulWave displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. To deliver these ads, AdMob may automatically collect:

• Device Information: Model, OS version, and Advertising ID.

• Usage Data: How you interact with ads within the app.

• IP Address: Used for general location-based ad delivery.

This data is processed directly by Google. You can manage your ad preferences in your device settings:

Settings → Google → Ads → Reset/Delete Advertising ID.

4. Data Storage & Security

• Local Processing: All media library scanning happens locally. We do not operate backend servers to store your file metadata.

• No Data Sale: We do not sell any user data to third parties.

• Minimal Risk: Since we do not collect personal information, there is no risk of your PII being exposed via our application.

5. Children’s Privacy

HaneulWave is designed for a general audience and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided information via third-party ad services, please contact us.

6. International Rights (GDPR/CCPA)

Depending on your region (EU/UK/California), you may have rights regarding the data collected by our advertising partner (Google), including the right to access, delete, or opt-out of personalized tracking. Please refer to Google’s Privacy & Terms to exercise these rights.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any changes will be reflected by the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and will be updated on the Google Play Store listing.
