1. Overview Handy ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application operates. Handy does not collect, store, or share your personal data with any external servers. We believe in privacy by design.
2. Camera Permissions Our app requires access to your device's camera for the following specific features:
Split Bill: To scan receipts using Optical Character Recognition (OCR).
Magnifier: To zoom in on physical objects or text.
Crucial: All camera data and images are processed locally on your device in real-time. We do not transmit, save, or view these images on any external server.
3. Data Storage All user data (such as To-Do lists, Favorite Dishes, and Saved Conversions) is stored locally on your device using Android's internal storage (Room Database and SharedPreferences).
We do not have a user database.
We cannot access your data.
If you uninstall the app, your local data will be deleted permanently.
4. Third-Party Services We use the following third-party APIs to provide functionality:
TheMealDB: Used to fetch recipe information in the "Dish Wish" feature. Your search queries are sent to this API to retrieve data, but no personal identifying information is transmitted.
5. Changes to This Policy We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
At Handy, we believe you should have full control over your data. Because Handy is an "Offline-First" application, your data (including To-Do tasks, BMI history, and app settings) is stored exclusively on your device's local storage and is never transmitted to our servers.
You can remove your data at any time using the following methods:
Individual Record Deletion: You can delete specific To-Do tasks, BMI history records, or saved conversions directly within the app by using the "Delete" icons provided in each tool.
Complete Data Removal: To permanently delete all data associated with the app, you can uninstall the Handy app from your device. This action will trigger the Android system to automatically wipe the local database and all saved preferences.
Backup Files: Any backup files (.json) you choose to export using the "Backup & Restore" feature are saved to a location of your choice (such as your Downloads folder or Google Drive). These files are under your control and must be manually deleted using your device's file manager or cloud storage provider.
Since we do not collect or store your data on any external servers, we cannot "retrieve" or "delete" your data for you. You are the sole owner and manager of your information.
