The Red Dress event was inspired by Canadian artist Jaime Black. With her permisson we brought the project to York Region. Members worked tirelessly collecting dressing and children's shoes, researching girls and women, creating posters and profiles, debunking myths about Indigenous people and more. The goal of the exhibit was to honour missing and murdered Indigenous women and children, to raise awareness and start a conversation. The exhibit spanned a weekend and was visited by hundreds of community members, the fire department, city council, Global and CTV news and more.
