Unit 1: America at the Beginning

Unit Overview:

• Time: August - September

• In this unit, students will begin to think, read, and write like historians and explore the essential question of How does a new nation choose and create founding ideals?

• They will activate and built upon their prior knowledge of topics such as: America's first colonies, Triangular Trade, American Revolution, and civic rights and responsibilities. They will travel on the road to the American Constitution.

• Colonial Era ( 1607 - 1775) and Revolutionary Era (1763 - 1789)
