Hello magical human!
My name is Megan Caldera and I live in Long Beach, California; the same city my grandparents lived in after WW II Japanese internment camps.
I am 40 years old and have a little family here with my husband, two daughters and dog. When Covid first hit the world in 2020, I was delivering a baby at the hospital 2 months into the U.S. lockdown. What a wild and scary time! We all went home healthy, but I felt like I couldn’t ask for help from our parents or friends for fear of spreading the virus. My lifelines of community, family, daycare, support were cut. I was stressed, tired, overwhelmed, stuck, and lonely. Depression soon followed. One day I looked at my reflection in the mirror and didn’t recognize this version myself. How did I get here? Who was I anymore?
With a lot of help (health, nature, friends, medicine, personal development, sunshine, vitamins…) I began to see how I could touch happiness again. I remembered how to access true joy within myself and started to peel back the layers of pain and hurt to reach towards pleasure and purpose. I remembered who the heck I was without needing all my old labels (mom, wife, professional, daughter, friend…); my true self. In my healing journey I was able to support a friend Christine! We came together in a burst of magic and today I get a chance to follow my childhood dream of being in fashion! I am here to remind you to brush off that dream left dusty on a shelf. It’s not too late and the world needs your gift.
