From Sunday 9 November, we’ll be introducing a number of temporary timetable enhancements across Portsmouth to help ease congestion and improve reliability during the busy Christmas period.
These changes are designed to keep our network moving smoothly through November, December, and into the New Year.
A temporary Sunday service will operate throughout the Christmas period, running every 60 minutes between 09:00 and 17:00. Weekday and Saturday timetables remain unchanged.
To ease passenger loads on our busy Services 11 and 12, we’re introducing new Service 16 as a temporary cross-city route. Operating Monday to Saturday, it runs every 30 minutes during morning and evening peaks and hourly during the day. There is no Sunday service. All normal tickets and passes are valid. The service will run until Saturday 3rd January 2026.
Update 11th November: We'll be running an hourly Sunday service on this route between November 23rd and December 21st.
To make Christmas shopping and festive travel easier, we’ll be running two special Park & Ride routes from Tipner Park & Ride:
PR1 – Tipner ↔ Gunwharf Quays View the timetable here
Every 12 minutes • Monday – Sunday
Direct link to Gunwharf Quays, The Hard and the City Centre
PR2 – Tipner ↔ Ocean Retail Park View the timetable here
Every 20 minutes • Monday – Sunday
Quick connection for Copnor and Anchorage Park shoppers
Both Park & Ride routes offer free parking at Tipner and a £2 return fare (child £1 / group £4).
These temporary enhancements ensure our passengers stay connected across Portsmouth and Havant during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.
Thank you for travelling with Hampshire & Solent Buses this Christmas — helping keep Hampshire moving.
