Practical Data Analysis Using STATA [Summer: 2023, 2022]- Syllabus; Lecture Slides
This course is designed to introduce second-year MA Economics students to applied economics using STATA. Students will begin with basic concepts such as data management, creating advanced graphs, linear regression, and hypothesis testing. Following this, they will learn about panel data regression, quantile regression, and instrumental variable (IV) regressions. The course also covers advanced techniques like 2x2 difference-in-differences (DiD) setups and regression discontinuity designs (RDD). Additionally, students are introduced to new DiD estimators proposed by Borusyak et al. (2021), de Chaisemartin and D’Haultfoeuille (2020), Callaway and Sant’Anna (2020), Sun and Abraham (2020), and Cengiz et al. (2019).
