Born in Fairmont, WV, Steve was raised in the Clarksburg area. After college, due to lack of job opportunities, he moved to Cleveland, OH. He returned to West Virginia in 2006 and currently resides in the Clarksburg area. He is active in the community and has a passion to assure all voices are heard, not just those of the corporations. Corporations are not people, so they should not be allowed to be throwing money at candidates for future favors. He will not accept any corporation's donations. His is a people driven campaign. Steve loves living in West Virginia and is striving to find innovative ways of keeping our youth here in the state, instead of moving to other states for better alternatives.

While living in Cleveland he was intertwined with the labor movement. His first job in Cleveland was working for a social service agency that was an arm of the Cleveland AFL-CIO. He was elected as a shop steward with the Office Professional Employees International Union serving on two negotiation committees. He left that job to become a community/union organizer with Service Employees International Union, District 1199. Following this he was hired as a contract organizer, where he held management accountable to adhere to the union contracts. He was the lead in several contract negotiations. Here he represented over 1300 workers. Currently he is employed by Price Cutters in the produce department.

Recently he became a certified Christian counselor. He will be joining the America Association of Christian Counselors.

He attends both Centerbranch Church and Rushing Wind Biker Church.
