When suddenly faced with the reality that a relationship is ending, many people can find themselves gripped by fear. The fear can become so overwhelming that it becomes paralyzing and can prevent someone from moving forward.
Before overcoming our fears, we need to know what we are up against. One technique is to list all the fears you are currently experiencing. It could be fear of an unknown future, fear of being judged, financial fears or maybe fear of being alone.
When we allow ourselves to face our fears, they slowly lose their intensity and power. When we acknowledge a fear, it can prompt us to take some sort of affirmative action. Another option is to write positive affirmations and read them out loud regularly.
