Policies

Location

I teach lessons at two location options. If schedules permit, I am willing to travel to students' houses to provide lessons given that the student has a space apropriate for learning an instrument. Additionally, I offer lessons in the Parkwood neighborhood in Fort Collins.

Required Materials

Students are expected to have their own instruments, cases, rosin, shoulder rest, cleaning cloth, binder/notebook, and music to bring to each lesson. If the student has never taken a lesson before, I will provide the student with guidance on how to acquire an instrument that will best suit their needs. I also strongly recommend Boomer Music Company or Shar for purchasing or renting required materials.

Rates

$30 for 30 min lesson, $45 for 45 min lesson, and $60 for hour lesson. Need-based scholarships are available for qualifying students.

Payment

Option 1: Pay per lesson

Payments per lesson are due at the end of each lesson.

Option 2: Pay per month

An invoice will be sent by the first of the month for each lesson held during the previous month. Payments are due two weeks after the invoice is sent.

I accept payments in cash, check, or Zelle. Contact me for more information on pricing and to set up your first lesson.

Student Cancellation

Please give me a 24 hour notice before cancellations; this will help you and others receive a make-up lesson. Lessons missed without prior notice will still be charged. Scheduled make-up lessons will not be rescheduled for any reason (i.e. no make-ups for make-up lessons).

Teacher Cancellation

Any lesson that I cancel is guaranteed to be rescheduled.

Parental Involvement

Parents are expected to attend lessons for children under 10 years old. Once a student is 10 or older, I start having students take more ownership of their own playing and practicing, so lesson attendance is less crucial. However, parents are always welcome to attend the lesson.
