Mary Blandino, whose 30 plus years of teaching and coaching at West Allis Nathan Hale High School included four state volleyball championships, eleven state tournament appearances and twelve conference championships. Mary coached volleyball for 34 years, track for fourteen years and gymnastics for seventeen years at Nathan Hale High School in West Allis. Multiple conference championships were earned in each sport. She was the 2002 Wisconsin Volleyball Coach of the Year and is a member of the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Hall of Fame as well as the Wisconsin Senior Olympic Hall of Fame and an inductee to the inaugural Nathan Hale Hall of Fame.
The Blandino Scholarship awards are scholarship awards of $500 for athletes of West Allis Nathan Hale High School. This award recognizes the student athletes for their academic achievements, their leadership in student & athletic activities as well as sportsmanship, school spirit, character and good citizenship.
This application process is open to any and all West Allis Nathan Hale High School students who meet the criteria.

Student athlete criteria
Student athletes must meet the following criteria:
Academic achievement (GPA 3.8 or higher through 7th semester)
Official high school transcript must be submitted with application.
Athletic achievement: To qualify the student/athlete must have participated in 8 sports the 4 years of high school with at least 1 sport per year
All fall, winter, spring and summer sports for all years freshmen through senior years count towards qualification. Poms and Cheerleading count as two sports per year because they are full school-year commitments.
The students involved in a spring sport their senior year must complete the sport before being given their award (unless they qualify prior to that sport).
There must not have been any district athletic code violations during their high school years
The student/athlete must be a booster club member (or his/her family) each year of high school
