The transcending of computing towards a ubiquitous and mobile platform is indeed complemented by an enormous demand and deployment. The realization of an ideal platform equating the vision to an absolute formation is indeed constantly being challenged. The Wireless, Mobile and Quantum programme aims at elevating the conducts research on protocols, architectures and systems for wireless, mobile, IoT, and quantum networks, dealing with design, implementation and evaluation aspects. The group's research activities span a wide range of wireless networking technologies (including mesh, ad hoc, vehicular sensor networks, personal networks, IoT, machine to machine) and encompasses the multitudes of protocol layers (from the application layer down to the data link/MAC layers). The research will indeed enable our nation to be realize the Digital Malaysia effort and to ensure that enhanced underlying platforms are created to support to prevailing visions.
The formation of the Wireless and Mobile Research Group was motivated by the need construct and deploy an avenue which enables enormous exchange of ideas, enhancing of existing technology and contributing towards the creation of breakthrough technologies.
The Wireless and Mobile Research Group comprises of researchers pursuing current research areas. Among which are:
5G-6G Wireless Networks
Wireless Sensor Networks
Internet of Things (IoT)
Satellite Communications
Wireless Networks Security
Quantum Computing
Performance Modelling and Simulation of Wireless Network
The adoption of new research areas are embraced dynamically with constant evaluations and assessments of the relevance and impact of the findings both academically and for commercial reasons.
The Wireless and Mobile Research Group Researcher pursue research in multiple modes. There are numerous faculty members with MSc and PhD scholars who constitute the research group. The rapid pace of development within the field of wireless and mobile technologies is complemented with the constant and cohesive efforts of the researchers. Research is conducted both as academic pursuit (Masters / PhD) or as research projects under grants funded by various Ministries, domestic and international organizations.
