About Your School Counselor
Mrs. Adriana Salinas
I am a proud Houstonian, born and raised in Southeast Houston and a HISD graduate from Chavez High School. I attended The University of Texas at Austin and earned my Bachelors in English and Education. Upon graduation, I went back to my alma mater and taught high school English for five years and during my third year of teaching I earned my Masters of Education from The University of St. Thomas in Professional School Counseling. I am now entering my sixth year as a High School Counselor. I'm passionate about education, mental health, and advocacy.
My mission is to instill all students with academic and socio-emotional tools to ensure their academic successful, post-high school readiness and promote their positive personal growth. I'll work closely with HAIS as well as parents, and the community to build positive relationships, provide relevant and meaningful resources and support.
I'm excited to serve as your HAIS School Counselor.
