Remote Digital Virtual Tower (RDVT): Southeast Asia’s first implementation at PIA via WP1
Design Consortium: NEAPOLI, Ainul Rahman Architect (ARA), and Arup—took part in masterplan and initial design, targeting LEED/GreenRE/GBI certification
Package 3 Bidders: Gamuda, IJM, MRCB, and SunCon among front-runners.
WP2: ~24% complete
WP3: Design phase, with contractor bid closing May 2025; operations expected in 2027
Security & Immigration: Installation of 10 additional auto-gates each at international halls; deployment of 30 additional Immigration personnel
LRT Integration: Coordination with MRT Corp to build a Light Rail Transit station near the terminal
The PIA expansion is a comprehensive upgrade split into three major packages. Progress on WP1 and WP2 is strong, while WP3 is gearing up. The project—designed to double capacity, enhance airside operations, and improve passenger experience—is on schedule for full operational readiness by 2028, with phased terminal services as early as 2027.
