Krysta Knott: Curly Hair Specialist

Krysta joined KG Hair Salon in June of 2024, but has been working in the hair industry for over 12 years. 

She graduated from VIU hairdressing program in 2011. After pursuing modeling opportunities in Montreal, Quebec and Cannes, France. She began working at a large educational salon in Nanaimo where she spent nine years honing her skills and fostering connections with her community and expanding clientele. 

Krysta has spent her career staying up to date with colour and cutting techniques. She is trained with Wella, Pravana, and Davines, and most recently has excelled in her knowledge of Goldwell Colour. She has also taken Toni&Guy's Bob Master class as well as is certified in DevaCurl 3 day training class for dry cutting techniques and their entire product line. 

Krysta is quickly becoming Nanaimo's Curly hair specialist. Trained in multiple different cutting techniques, she is also masterful at taking any curl pattern that is limp, lifeless, and dull and teaching her clients the full potential of their hair. By using high quality products and specific styling, you will leave her chair with bouncy, voluptuous curls you didn't realize you had! 

Krysta is not just a one trick pony, she is also passionate about low density, limp, fine/thin hair. She once suffered from fragile, lame hair and loves teaching her clients how to love what they have. 

She does both men's and woman's hair, long and short, she is not limited to just one thing 

Her favorite services to provide are blending colour services, creating natural lived in looks. Haircuts that give its wearer a sense of ease and style.  Highlights, Lowlights, Demi permanent glazes that add shine and demension. Balayage, to give easy maintenance while giving a fresh new look! 

Krysta has over a decade of experience to help you create your perfect ever day hair. 

Most recently, Krysta's obsession with colour theory has lead to her pursuing training in Personalized Colour Analysis. She has completed her 30 hour online qualification, and then followed it up with a 3 day, full time mastery program awarding her a certificate from the International Image Institute in Toronto, Canada. 

She can now provide her clients with in depth recommendations to help them shine brightest, giving a colour palette that best compliments your skin, eyes, and features!
