The organisers would like to thank everyone who attended the second Haiku Down Under conference that took place online via Zoom from Friday to Sunday, August 16-18, 2024. Our theme for 2024 was A Sensory Journey.

This was an initiative to connect writers primarily from New Zealand and Australia through workshops, presentations, writing sessions and readings. Our aim was to celebrate our seasons, peoples and cultures, landscapes and seascapes, vernacular language, and flora and fauna.

Post Conference Update

August 2024: The results of the Haiku Down Under 2024 Haiku Contest organised by the Portarlington Haiku Society were announced at the final session of the conference and have been posted on the Contest page.

Pre Conference Updates

Update August 2024: Registrations have closed. The Zoom link for the weekend has being sent to registered participants. Anthology submission details have been added to the website.

Update July 2024: We are pleased to announce that the Portarlington Haiku Society, based in regional Victoria, Australia, have organised a contest to be held in conjunction with Haiku Down Under 2024. The Haiku Down Under 2024 Haiku Contest details will only be sent to participants who register for Haiku Down Under 2024 by the registration closing date of August 11, 2024.

This month you may also notice a few adjustments to the Programme and Presenters .

Update June 2024: Registrations are now open. Navigate to our Register page and complete the form to ensure you receive the Zoom links for the Haiku Down Under weekend.

Update April 2024: We are delighted to announce the Programme with the timing of the workshops, presentations and other activities that engage with our theme.

Update March 2024: We are delighted to announce the awesome Presenters confirmed so far together with the titles of their workshops or presentations.
