Ethics in Hagiotherapy
The hagiotherapist practices with respect for the person he receives, his autonomy, his dignity and his freedom of judgment and decision.
He systematically seeks the free and informed consent of the person he receives. He informs the person in a clear and intelligible manner of the objectives, modalities, cost and limits of his intervention.
If he considers it useful, the hagio-therapist can invite the person to be cared for by other professionals.
Also, if he deems it useful, the hagio-therapist can end a therapy.
The hagio-therapist is subject to an obligation of discretion. He respects the fundamental principle that no one can be forced to reveal anything about oneself.
The professional practice of the hagio-therapist requires an setup that guarantees confidentiality.
Confidentiality means everything that the hagio-therapist is aware of in the exercise of his profession: what is entrusted to him, as well as what he sees, hears or understands.
The hagio-therapist collects, processes, files and archives his personal notes and the data relatied to his activity in such a way as to preserve the privacy of the person he receives, guaranteeing the respect of confidentiality.
The hagio-therapist respects the ethical principles, the values of integrity and probity according to the practice of his profession.
The hagio-therapist is responsible, in complete autonomy, for the choice and application of his modes of intervention.
The hagio-therapist derives his skills from :
knowledge acquired during validated university training in the field of psychology
his exprience to discern his personal involvement in approaching and understanding others.
The hagio-therapist is responsible for his particular qualifications. He defines his own limits, taking into account his training and experience.
The hagio-therapist shows moderation, discernment and impartiality. He accepts the therapeutic follow-ups that he considers compatible with his skills. He has the ethical responsibility to refuse any therapeutic follow-up when he knows that he does not have the required skills.L’hagio-thérapeute fait preuve de mesure, de discernement et d’impartialité. The hagio-therapist freely determines his fees with tact and moderation, and the payment modes. He shall inform the person he receives in advance and shall ensure his or her agreement.
He owns the right to interrupt the therapeutic follow-up if the person he receives does not pay his fees according to the agreement defined jointly with him.
