"Hagerty High School's Model United Nations club is pleased to announce the creation of the HagertyMUN Conference. We hope this will provide delegates more opportunities to dive further into the model un world, and help develop some key skills needed to excel as a delegate".

Model United Nations (MUN) is an excellent outlet for students to have fun while learning key skills like leadership, research, problem-solving, and public speaking. Students work hard each day to prepare themselves for the end goal of attending a Model UN Conference. However, Central Florida suffers from a lack of conferences in which to participate. Students wishing to attend a conference often have to travel far distances to the nearest conference, which can be very costly and makes attending a conference unattainable for a plethora of students.

To further expand upon the interest and enthusiasm of students to solve real-world problems, we are creating HagertyMUN. This conference will be a training conference geared toward high school students in central Florida to introduce them to the MUN world and prepare them for larger-scale conferences like KnightMUN or GatorMUN. The accessibility of MUN conferences is vital to developing problem-solving and leadership skills and providing an enjoyable after-school activity that enriches the community.
