Feng Yang Song

NWM Quints would like to share this song as a way of increasing our repertoire of ethnic music and to celebrate Chinese New Year (Feb. 5, 2019), Gung Hay Fat Choy!

This is a traditional Chinese Folk song which originated under the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The Chinese people knew which vendor was in the neighborhood, according to the song. The first verse describes the vendors and the second verse is about the toy seller. The third and fourth verses, which are not included here, are about a barber and a fortune teller.
