Ripples
(A Collection of Poems)
"Ripples is a quiet, soul-stirring collection where each poem casts a stone into the still waters of memory, sending gentle waves through the heart that linger long after the last page is turned."

★★★★★
"Ripples" is a great piece of literary work of act with a careful choice of flowery words characterised by some imagery/symbolism. The use of stone and water as personifications are some few examples in Line 1. The thematic aspect of the poem appears to dwell on "the actions we take as humans." ( We must indeed be conscious of our actions ) This is interesting. Great work by the great poetess Mrs Hadiza Bagudu. My humble respect ma'am."

Stillness
Not the absence of motion,
But the presence of everything.
Waiting—
The held breath before the dive,
The pause between heartbeats,
The moment when the pendulum hangs,
Perfectly balanced before surrendering to gravity.
In this space, we find what moves
When nothing seems to move at all.

Hadiza Bagudu is a Fulani-Nigerian author, poet, and storyteller born and raised in Yola, Adamawa State. Her work is deeply rooted in the landscapes, languages, and traditions of Northern Nigeria.
Her debut novel Fantah draws from her own experiences growing up in a rich multicultural household — her father was Nupe from Niger State, and her grandmother was married to the chief of Madagali.
She is also the author of the poetry collection With Love, featuring poems on love, inspiration, life, and humor.
