Thank you for choosing to use Hadees. The app presents the Forty Hadith of Imam al-Nawawi in Arabic, English and Urdu, with references and gradings, and works entirely offline. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle your information and ensure the security of your data. By using our app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Hadees is published by LegendarySZ. The app's package name is com.legendarysz.hadees.
No user data: The app itself does not collect, store, or transmit any personal or sensitive user data.
No account: There is no sign-in, no profile, and nothing to register.
No permissions to your content: We do not request access to contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos or storage.
No direct tracking technologies: We do not use cookies, web beacons, or any tracking technology of our own to monitor your activity.
Your favourites, notes, reading progress, theme, text size, language choices and reminder time are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded. The hadith collection ships inside the app and is read offline; nothing is downloaded in order to read it.
Because there is no cloud copy, uninstalling the app permanently deletes your favourites and notes. They cannot be restored afterwards.
While Hadees does not directly collect Personally Identifiable Information (PII), we integrate with third-party services that may collect information.
We use Google AdMob to display banner, interstitial and rewarded advertisements within the app. AdMob is an advertising service provided by Google Ireland Limited. It is what allows the app to be offered for free.
How AdMob collects and uses data: AdMob and its third-party advertising partners may collect certain data from your device to serve relevant advertising, perform analytics and prevent fraud. This may include:
IP address, used to determine approximate location for geo-targeted ads
Device identifiers, such as your Android Advertising ID
User interactions with ads, including views and clicks
Diagnostic information about the performance and stability of the AdMob SDK
App information and performance, including crash logs and diagnostics
Use of cookies and similar technologies: Google AdMob and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies as a result of ad serving, enabling them to deliver personalised ads based on your interests and previous interactions.
Where ads appear: banners appear on the Books, Daily, Favorites and Search tabs. A full-screen ad may appear when you leave a reading session. No ad is ever placed on the hadith reading screen itself.
Data security: data collected by these third-party SDKs is encrypted in transit using the industry-standard TLS protocol.
Opt-out: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings, adjust personalisation at https://adssettings.google.com/, or remove ads entirely by purchasing Hadees Premium. See the AdMob policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used and which features matter. Firebase Analytics may collect:
Usage data, such as screens opened, session duration and frequency of use
Device information, including device model and operating system
Interaction data, such as whether a hadith was shared as text or as an image, and how many results a search returned
Events include a hadith identifier such as nawawi40:1 so we can tell which hadith are read and shared. Events never contain hadith text, your notes, your favourites, or anything you have typed. Firebase Crashlytics helps us monitor crashes and stability issues. When the app crashes, Crashlytics automatically collects:
Crash logs describing the crash event
Device information, such as device model and operating system version
App state at the time of the crash, including whether Premium is active
This information is what allows us to diagnose and fix bugs. It is anonymous and does not directly identify you. See https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
The app may use Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications, for example to announce a content correction or a new collection. FCM collects a device-specific token, which is a unique identifier for your device and contains no personal information. It is used solely to deliver messages.
The daily hadith reminder is not a push notification. It is scheduled on your device by your device, and it works with no network connection. Nothing about it is sent to or from a server.
Hadees Premium is sold through Google Play Billing. Purchases are processed entirely by Google. We never see or store your payment details. The app asks Google Play whether a valid purchase exists and stores only a yes/no answer on your device.
The app uses Google Play's In-App Review API to let you rate the app without leaving it, and the In-App Update API to offer a new version when one is available.
No personal data collected: neither feature collects or transmits personal or sensitive data.
User control: the review prompt is optional, appears at most once, and is never shown immediately after an advertisement. Updates are offered, never forced.
Google Play privacy: data related to reviews and updates is handled by Google Play under its own policy — https://play.google.com/about/play-terms/index.html.
When you share a hadith as text or as an image, the app creates the content on your device and hands it to the app you choose. The image is written to the app's private cache and is never uploaded by us. Once you have chosen a destination, what happens to the content is governed by that app's privacy policy, not this one.
Hadees is a religious reference app and its content is appropriate for all ages, but it is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The app displays advertising supplied by Google AdMob, which uses an advertising identifier; for that reason it is not registered as a child-directed app. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us and we will address it.
The Arabic text is cross-checked across four independent sources, and each hadith's grading and reference are derived from Imam al-Nawawi's own takhrij rather than assumed. Three hadith have no published Urdu edition and were translated from the Arabic; this is stated in the app. This is not a scholarly certification. If you find an error, report it from the About screen and the correction ships in the next content update.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. By continuing to use the app after changes come into effect, you agree to the revised policy.
