Year Long Conference of Thinking and Doing

The Year Long Conference of Thinking and doing is about teachers building resources for teachers, while also learning through formats that work best for them.

Prior to the conference, teams of co-presenters - one "thinker" or big ideas person and one "doer" or practical, hands-on person. They pitch their ideas in an online forum and people determine which sessions they want to go to.

Two tracks: Listening and doing. They happen simultaneously and thinkers and doers come together between to share ideas. Between sessions, participants from each track will come together for an hour of structured sharing of what they learned in their first session. There will be a quiet space that allows participants to process and refuel.

At the end of the day, participants will form teams based on one of the sessions that they went to during the day that inspired them most. They will then form an online community and over the next several weeks or months, start to plan out a project that they will create based on the topic they chose.

On day two, several weeks or months later, teams will gather and build their project together.

After a few more weeks of planning following day 2, participants will gather together in an "Expo". However, the vendors at the Expo will not be companies, but rather the participants. This day is open to the public, and anyone can come and purchase the projects built by the teams (resources/etc). This will satisfy the "implement right now" personas, who can come and buy the work of the thinkers & doers.

A portion of the revenue from the sale of ideas will go back into the conference to make it bigger and better (and cheaper for participants) next year!
