Swag Story
Hapara Story
It was 3/24/18 we were in Spanish. Class would end in 15 more minutes and then Break would start. I was sitting at my desk in the front of the room, and the teacher was at her desk on the left. I was supposedly doing my classwork, but I was getting kind of annoyed because of Hapara's ugly focused browsing. I decided I was through and Hapara needed to be done for. I quietly opened up a whole new window without the teacher noticing on Hapara Dashboard. Then, I slowly opened up chrome URLS and did chrome://kill multiple times and switched the internet randomly to overload and confuse focused browsing. Then, after it got disabled, I went to chrome://extensions and enabled Devmode. (this is all unblocked at our school since they think we are noobs and we can't hack). After that I disabled it so it would be offline and I was untrackable. I had just been playing powerline.io for 3 minutes when the teacher called me to her desk and she was all like "Why can't track you." I said "I don't know why are you asking me?" Then she said ok something must be wrong with the internet. LOL what a NOOB. The school actually thinks we students are dumb and can't do simple things like disable an extension in chrome.

Hapara Story
This was when devtools was unblocked
So a few months ago on the day before winter break, I was in period 8 and my teacher let the 5 of us do whatever we wanted on the chromebooks. I didn't think that she would use hapara on us. Most of my teachers don't really care about what we do since 99% of the internet is blocked by the iboss firewall. Because of this I was in a false sense of security. I fired up some dank meme videos on youtube and watched them for about 5 minutes. Then my teacher closed the tab with hapara and sent me a message telling me to do something educational . She said we could look at anything we wanted. Everyone else was looking at stuff that was far more inappropriate than the stuff I was looking at

Anyways I quickly went into devtools, knocked the browser offline, blocked requests, etc. My teacher than screeched at me "WTF NATHAN WHY CAN'T I SEE YOU ON MY HAPARA" This annoying kid screamed"HES ON GUEST" My teacher ran over to check, But I was logged in with my google account. Devtools also runs in the background, and most of the people in the school dont know sh*t when it comes to computers. My teacher ended up stopping and I was free to do whatever I wanted.

Horror Story

So I told a few people who I trusted the devtools method. I wasn't an idiot and made sure none of the teachers found out.
However, there was a snitch. This kid whose face looked like a pizza actually thought that it would be a good idea to tell the IT guy how to disable hapara. Out of all people, the IT guy. What happened next is predictable. The next day I got onto a chromebook
and fired up devtools. Well, I tried to do that. Turns out developer mode was blocked, along with inspect element
Now I have to spam chrome(:)//kill at least 100 times.
I'm fighting this war too. Stay strong soliders

So one day during Study Hall I was doing a NewsELA assignment thing we had for Spanish. It was about Machu Picchu or something. So I was putting all the text into a translator (don't tell anyone) when my window closed by itself. I got confused, and fired it up again. It closed. Then, on the corner of my screen, Hapara sent me a notification- a note from one of my teachers. It said something like "WHY ARE YOU READING A NEWSELA ARTICLE IN A DIFFERENT LANGAUGE? YOU SHOULD BE DOING IT IN ENGLISH!"
So I logged out of NewsELA for ten minutes and I relogged back in. The window closed. Again. I had enough, and I had to do my assignment on an Incognito tab.
Something that bothered me was that my teacher was ALWAYS watching what their students are doing, thanks to Hapara. First of all it is illegal and teachers shouldn't be snooping around in their students' business.
