Criteria for Participation

Read below to see if you're able to participate in the event.

Hackathon Participants

This event is a unique collaboration between the EPA and The University of Sydney.

As such all participation must fall within one of the below areas of affiliation with the university:

Level A or Level B Academics staff* of the University of Sydney

A Early Career researchers (ECRS) of the University of Sydney

* e.g. postdoctoral fellows, and Postgraduate students (Masters and PhD Candidates)

Faculty or School Affiliation

The participating University of Sydney Faculty and Schools are listed below

If you would like to participate bat are not associated with one of the below, please get in contact and the hackathon team can confirm your involvement directly.

each participant will be placed in a small team (max 5) of people with mixed disciplines to solve their nominated problem.

All teams will be supported by topic experts and mentors.

Other eligibility requirements include:

Participants MUST -

• have the ability to commit approximately 4 hours per day during the Competition Period to working with your team

• have access to a computer and internet

• where applicable, have supervisor approval to participate. Entrants who have University work commitments during the Competition Period must have Supervisor approval to participate or are able to work around those commitments including making alternative arrangements subject to supervisor approval (eg: annual leave).

• All entrants must be residents of New South Wales Australia.

• Employees of the EPA are not eligible to enter the competition.
