The official forum for the Haddonfield Antiracist Coalition is a Facebook group. We aim to move "beyond an awareness of racism to the next step of contributing to the formation of a truly just and equitable society" (Ibram X. Kendi).
A few of us manage group administration, event planning, and driving engagement, but the majority of HAC activity is driven by the broader group of over 450 residents.
Our vision: To build an antiracist community and dismantle racist systems.
Our mission: To raise awareness of issues related to justice and racism. To center and amplify BIPOC voices. To be a resource and organizing space for equity and justice issues in our community. To work collectively to respond to inequity in policies and practices and to advocate for change.
Our structure: To participate, you do not need to be a ‘model ally’ but should be doing work on that journey. Please join us with an open mind, courage, and a readiness to stretch (and remember that sometimes stretching is uncomfortable)! We will all pledge to be respectful, but please also know that HAC is a space where we give & receive feedback.
