This Privacy Policy explains how the Habit Tracker Android app ("the App", "we", "us") handles your information. The App is developed and published on Google Play by Alok Shakya, an individual developer.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Your habits, check-ins, streaks, name, photos and settings are stored only on your device. We do not run any server, and this data is never sent to us.
We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your email address, phone number or contacts.
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect device identifiers and other data to show and measure ads. Pro users are not shown ads.
Purchases of Habit Tracker Pro are processed by Google Play. We never see or store your payment details.
The App does not include any analytics or crash-reporting service of its own, and we do not sell your personal data.
The App stores the following information locally on your device, in the App's private storage. Other apps cannot access it, and it is not sent to us or to any server we control.
Habits you create (names, categories, icons, schedules, reminder times, daily targets): to show and track your habits.
Check-in history, streaks, streak freezes and statistics: to track your progress and show insights and charts.
Achievements you earn: to show your badges.
Your name (optional): to greet you on the home screen.
Profile photo and custom habit pictures (optional, Pro): to show your chosen pictures in the App.
App lock PIN (optional): to protect the App. The PIN is stored only as a salted, one-way hash and cannot be read back or recovered.
App settings (theme, reminder sounds, preferences) and your Pro status: to make the App work the way you set it up.
When you choose a profile photo or a custom habit picture, the App uses Android's system photo picker. The App does not request access to your photo library. It only receives the single photo you choose. That photo is resized to a small image and saved in the App's private storage. The original photo is not changed or uploaded.
If you turn on fingerprint or face unlock for the app lock, the check is done entirely by Android. The App only learns whether the check succeeded. It never receives or stores your fingerprint, face or other biometric data.
If you add the Habit Tracker widget, it shows your habit names and today's progress on your home screen. Anyone who can see your home screen may see this information.
We do not collect, receive or store:
Your name, email address, phone number or any account details
Your precise location
Your contacts, call logs, SMS or files (other than photos you choose, which stay on your device)
Your habit data or progress
Your payment information
The free version of the App shows banner ads served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. Users with Habit Tracker Pro are not shown ads.
To show, measure and limit ads, and to prevent fraud, the AdMob software in the App may collect and share with Google:
Device identifiers, such as the Android Advertising ID
Approximate location, derived from your IP address
App interactions, such as ad views and taps
Diagnostics, such as crash logs and performance data related to ads
Basic device information, such as device model, operating system and language
This data is collected and processed by Google, not by us. We do not receive any data that identifies you personally. For details, see:
How Google uses information from apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

Where the law requires it (for example, in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), the App shows a consent message through Google's User Messaging Platform before any ads are requested. You can change your choice at any time from Settings > Ad privacy options in the App, when this option is shown.
You can opt out of personalised ads, or reset or delete your Advertising ID, in your device settings (usually Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Privacy > Ads, depending on your device).
You can manage your Google ad settings at https://adssettings.google.com.
Habit Tracker Pro is an optional paid upgrade. It is offered as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase.
All purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. Payment details are handled by Google and are never shared with us.
The App receives from Google Play only the information needed to confirm your purchase (for example, which plan you bought and whether it is active). This is used to unlock Pro features on your device.
Purchases are subject to the Google Play Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.
The App uses local notifications to remind you about your habits. Reminders are scheduled on your device and are never sent from a server.
On Android 13 and later, the App asks for permission to send notifications. You can turn this off at any time in your device settings.
To deliver reminders at the exact time you choose, the App may ask you to allow Alarms & reminders. If you do not allow it, reminders may arrive a little late.
Reminders may show your habit names. Depending on your device's lock screen settings, they may be visible on your lock screen.
Notifications: to show habit reminders.
Alarms & reminders (exact alarms): to deliver reminders at the time you set.
Run at startup: to restore your reminders after the device restarts, or after the time or time zone changes.
Internet and network state: to load ads and to process purchases through Google Play.
Advertising ID: used by Google AdMob for advertising and measurement (free version).
Biometric: only if you turn on fingerprint or face unlock for the app lock.
Google Play Billing: to process Pro purchases.
The App does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, phone or storage.
If Android backup is turned on for your device, your habit data, settings and pictures saved in the App may be backed up to your own Google account and restored when you set up a new device. These backups are made and stored by Google under your Google account, are governed by the Google Privacy Policy, and are not accessible to us. You can turn backup off in your device settings (usually Settings > Google > Backup).
You can export your habits to a backup file (JSON), or create a PDF progress report (Pro). These files are saved only to a location you choose, such as your device storage or a cloud drive. The App does not send them anywhere. If you share these files with others or store them with another service, that service's privacy policy applies. When you import a backup file, the App reads only the file you choose.
We do not hold any of your data, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side. You are in full control:
Delete individual items in the App, such as a habit, a habit picture or your profile photo.
Delete all App data by uninstalling the App, or by going to your device's Settings > Apps > Habit Tracker > Storage > Clear storage.
Delete backups stored in your Google account through your Google account or device backup settings.
Advertising data collected by Google is kept and deleted according to Google's own policies. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device settings and manage your data at https://myaccount.google.com.
Purchase records are kept by Google Play as part of your Google account.
If you have a question about deletion, contact us at the email below and we will help.
Your data stays in the App's private storage, which Android protects from other apps.
The optional app lock PIN is stored only as a salted, one-way hash.
Data sent by the Google AdMob and Google Play Billing services is encrypted in transit by those services.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. We recommend using a device screen lock and keeping your device updated.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not share your habit data with anyone, because we never receive it. The only third parties that receive data through the App are:
Google AdMob, for advertising, as described in section 4
Google Play, for purchases, as described in section 5
We may disclose information if required by law. Since we do not hold your data, there is normally nothing for us to disclose.
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will help to remove it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data. These may include the right to access, correct, delete or move your data, to withdraw consent, and to object to certain processing. Such rights may come from the GDPR (EU and EEA), the UK GDPR, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), or US state laws such as the CCPA/CPRA (California).
Because your habit data stays on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the App or in your device settings, as explained in section 9. To withdraw or change your ad consent, use Settings > Ad privacy options in the App, where available. For data collected by Google, you can use Google's tools at https://myaccount.google.com or contact Google.
For any other request, contact us at the email below. We will respond within a reasonable time, and within any period required by law.
The App is developed in India. Data collected by Google through AdMob and Google Play may be processed in countries other than your own, under Google's own privacy policy and safeguards.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when we add features or when the law changes. Changes will be posted at this same link, and the "Last updated" date at the top will be changed. If we make significant changes, we may also tell you inside the App. Please check this page from time to time.
