Rahul has also been awarded the Ocean Frontier Institute (OFI) visiting fellowship to conduct four months (July 2024 - Oct 2024) of research on autonomous underwater vehicles at Memorial University, Canada.
During the OFI visiting fellowship at Memorial University, Rahul engaged in the following research activities:
Visited the Explorer AUV research facility.
Designed both the old and new configurations of the Explorer class AUV using modeling software.
Conducted numerical self-propulsion analysis on the old and new configurations of the Explorer class AUV.
Generated self-propulsion data for the Explorer class AUV at various speeds and propeller RPMs using CFD, and predicted its performance.
Shared expertise on numerical self-propulsion analysis with research students working on the AUV during progress meetings.
