Got a cold call from (418) 559-7554 on August 6, 2021. A 25 years old Caucasian male named himself Steeven reached out to me and wish to learn Wing Chun. We decided to meet on August 8, 2021 by 11:30am.
This Steeven who had an instagram ID 666matthewss mentioned that he like Muay Thai but his partner didn't want to train him. (This is an important information for later)
On August 8, 2021, this Steeven did not show up at 11:30am. So, I texted him at 11:31am as shown above. He did not get back to me, so I called him by phone at 11:43am.
Over the phone, Steeven said he was busy with something else, he cannot find my contact info on his phone (I just text him at 11:31am) since he texted so many other sifus earlier. So, I told him no need to come anymore.
As you can see from the above text record, he started to text back to me (Hey, he found my number all of a sudden, he said he couldn't find it earlier) and said I was very unrespectful. He also lectured me about Martial art is about love & respect....
Correct me if I was wrong please. I attended the training session as instructor, I was waiting there. This Steeven was absent.
There's no call nor notification from this Steeven.
I texted him, no respond. I called him by phone, no sorry but an excuse saying busy & cannot find my contact info.
Why was I the person who's unrespectful (By the way, should be disrespectful)?
And then he replied he didn't have only 1 small thing to manage but he owned 3 companies (He thought teaching Wing Chun is a small thing, and he failed to attend a small appointment). He said he tried his best to reach me but he can't. As you see from previous info, I initiated all the calls, none was from him. And he called me egocentric man.
I replied if a person failed at a small matter, this person cannot accomplish any bigger task.
Also, a criminal at court had no credibility since his speech represent no honest value. Which I implied him stop trash talking to me since he's the one who fail to attend, notify me. Plus he didn't feel sorry at all & no apology, he probably think he did not made any mistake.
I said as a adult, these behavior were immature & irresponsible. And I won't text more to him.
After I mentioned that I would not text to him anymore, Steeven continued to harass me by texting multiple messages.
He first saying he was a philosopher who made $5 million.
Continue trash talked me "got a lot of anger", "extremely irrational", my ego is too strong for 25 years old", etc...
Next ridiculous thing was he wanted me to proof myself in arena??? (He probably watched too many UFC?) Remember he mentioned he had a Muay Thai partner didn't want to train him in Muay Thai? He said his partner arrived in 4 days, and he would love to see if I know something about Wing Chun by accepting a fight with his 33 years old Muay Thai partner? Steven said "He wanna test you".
Once again, I do not know his Muay Thai partner, why drag a third party in your own fault, Steeven? Plus I barely know you as well, Steeven.
This is such a mystery for a young adult nowadays, he likes to use violence to solve things??? People like to ask someone else to step up for himself? Why got another party involved?
Since I said I won't texted him no more earlier. He replied "Checkmate". Who do you think will have such behavior? An mature adult? or a kid?
Last message Steeven sent me was a threat. He said, "will come do a turn at the park when my partner arrive to practice".
He implied he will bring his 33 years old Muay Thai partner to the park where I teach Wing Chun to "practice". If you understand what he implied.
My personal impression is he would like to harass me in person, not by himself though. Or he would like to watch a free fighting show for his younger partner to beat up an older guy?
I am glad that his partner did not train him in Muay Thai. Moreover, I am glad that I made my decision not to teach him as well. The more Steeven knows, the more harm he will do to this world.
