Description of each scale

Scale is a simple, basic gymnastics skill. It is used in both floor and beam routines.

Front Scale

Front scale is a fundamental balance skill performed on one leg, with the other leg extended straight behind the body while reaching forward with both arms parallel to the extended leg. This pose requires significant strength, flexibility, and balance.

Back scale

A back scale in gymnastics is a balance skill where the gymnast stands on one leg while extending the other leg straight up behind the body. The arms are typically extended either sideways or forward to aid in maintaining balance. This skill requires strength, flexibility, and precise control to achieve and hold the position without wobbling. It showcases the gymnast's ability to balance on one leg while demonstrating extension and alignment in the extended leg and body.

Side scale

A side scale in gymnastics is a balance skill where the gymnast stands on one leg with the other leg extended sideways, forming a 90-degree angle with the body. The arms are usually extended to the sides or overhead to assist in maintaining balance. This skill requires strength, flexibility, and precise body alignment to achieve and hold the position steadily. It showcases the gymnast's ability to balance on one leg while demonstrating extension and control in the extended leg and body.
