We encourage our students to take on the mantle of leadership at a young age. Leadership comes with it some level of responsibility which in turn helps shape these young leaders' character. Promoting leadership in school is a great way to promote positive life skills learning in a way that it provides young people the ability to analyze their own strengths and weaknesses; to set personal and vocational goals; and to gain the self-esteem, confidence, motivation, and abilities to carry out those goals. It also provides these youngsters the ability to guide or direct others on a course of action, influence the opinions and behaviors of others and serve as role models.
School Clubs and activities are another way to nurture children's social skills. They provide opportunities and experiences that are beneficial to students' development and awareness. Gyagenda primary School has a range of school clubs to which the students are encouraged to join anyone of their choice. The clubs' activities are not only limited to the school premises but also in the school's surrounding communities. This helps students to feel the gratification of helping others and also being apart of something accomplished. Also helping in school clubs, helps set a good example to other students thus making them want to contribute too to the school and society.
All in all Gyagenda clubs help nurture role models, preset learning opportunities, students make new friends through fraternising with club members, improves their leadership skills, provides students with a positive outlet of their energy and is a source of enjoyment for all involved.
