in 2012, Flag Day began in the city of Snellville with the leadership of then Councilman Sabbagh and the support of the city mayor and council. The event of the USA Flag Day recognition grew and a new name was chosen "Gwinnett Flag Day" . The Flag Day events are conducted with engagement of many sponsors such as the VFW, DAV, current and former service men and women, cities, county, state and federal representatives. Each year the flag presented is flown over the U.S. Capital building or over significant historical structure such as Independence Hall or a field of important significance to the history of the USA
Mission Statement:
To bring the Gwinnett community together in honoring the American flag, fostering patriotism, unity, and mutual respect, and educating future generations about its history and meaning.
Vision Statement:
A Gwinnett community united in shared respect for the American flag and inspired to live out the values of service, liberty, and unity it represents.
