The Basque Cultural Center is in South San Francisco.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Basque is at 599 Railroad Ave., South San Francisco, an easy drive from anywhere in the Bay Area. It is THE go-to place for school reunions and community events, including the GWHS Athletic Hall of Fame and S.F. Prep Hall of Fame inductions. Everything is on ground level, easy to access.
Since the Irish Cultural Center's kitchen closed (now need a caterer) and Patio Espanol shut, the only reasonable S.F. venue left is the Italian Athletic Club in North Beach with NO on-site parking and mobility issues. Hotels and golf clubs are out of the question unless we charge $200+/person.
There are four choices for your main entreé:
Salmon in Champagne sauce w/rice & vegetables;
Breast of Chicken Chasseur w/rice & vegetables;
Veal Roast Au Jus w/scalloped potatoes & vegetables
(Prime rib & NY steaks aren't as good);
Vegetarian - pasta w/red sauce.
See photos below.
All dinners include salad, large roll with butter, and coffee or hot tea, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Dietary restrictions may be accommodated with advance notice.

When you check in and receive your name tag, you'll also be given meal tags as seen here. (Veal is a cow's head.) If your name isn't already written on the meal tag, write it at the top immediately, and place the meal tag at the place setting where you will sit. Your server will use that meal tag as a guide.
Parking at the Basque is plentiful and free! It's also accessible via SamTrans routes 37, 130 and 141, and a short distance from CalTrain South San Francisco station and BART San Bruno station.
A 50-year reunion requires an indoor venue and we are all at the age considered higher risk. We strongly recommend you self-test on June 7 or 8, and if you test positive please do not attend. At the venue, we suggest you bring and wear a N95 or KN95 mask except when eating/drinking.
There are no physical tickets. If you bought your seat on Eventbrite, their confirmation email is your proof of purchase. If you mailed a check, you will have received an email from gwhs.sf.1974@gmail.com confirming that we received your check. It is not necessary to print these confirmations, we will have a complete check-in list at the door.
There will be a campus tour on Friday, June 7, at 11:00am. Reservations have closed.
Any additional activities are on your own.
You don't have to bring anyone if you don't want to. That said, you're welcome to purchase a ticket for your spouse/significant other and/or adult child. Service animals are welcome, no ticket required...but not emotional support peacocks.
Keep scrolling - a list of attendees as of the date and time listed is below.
If your friend isn't there, have you contacted them to ask if they're coming? If not, do it! Call them, text them, email them, tag them on social media. We've attempted to reach as many classmates as possible. Maybe they didn't get our save-the-date card, maybe we don't have their email. Word of mouth is the best way to ensure your group of friends will all be there.
What are you, six years old? Just come, and deal with it!
Reconciling with your past is a key to your wellness. Reconciliation doesn't mean "everything is all right" and you're going to clasp hands and sing Kumbaya. Read this article for more insights.
Your presence will prove that you are a survivor. Even if you weren't social, there will be people who remember you. And you may be surprised in talking to others that your experiences weren't that different. Tammy, whose own experience at GWHS was no walk in the park, has been to scores of other class' reunions and spoken to thousands of alums. In every instance no attendee was sorry they came, but people who didn't come were sorry that they missed the opportunity. So take a chance!
