Gwenaëlle Deconninck

I am a postdoctoral researcher at Lund University working at the interface of ecology and evolutionary biology. My research focuses on how organisms respond and adapt to environmental change, with a particular interest in thermal biology and phenotypic plasticity. 

I completed my Bachelor’s degree at La Rochelle University and my Master’s degree at University of Montpellier. I received my PhD from University of Tours in 2024, where I investigated how environmental factors such as temperature, resource availability, and microbial symbionts influence the behaviour, physiology, and population dynamics of fruit flies, with a particular focus on the invasive pest Drosophila suzukii. 

At Lund University, I am now expanding this work to explore how behavioural thermoregulation can buffer the evolution of thermal traits in reptiles, and how eco-evolutionary processes shape the resilience and adaptation of small island lizard populations.
