Karen has worked 30 years at Caterpillar as an engineer. For fun, She mentors a FIRST robotics team and is helping with computer vision which is an exciting new technology. She has seen GWC in the news and thought it was a great idea. As the co-chair for Society of Women Engineers outreaach, she applauds NSBE and their efforts to bring this great organization to our Peoria youth and look forward to helping the students achieve their goals.
Shann has a B.S. in Mathematics/Actuarial Science from Bradley University and an MBA Project Management from New York Institute of Technology. She has been employed at Caterpillar for 12 years, mostly in Information Technology, but most recently as a Project Manager. She is the President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Nu Pi Omega Chapter and a financial member since 1996. She currently serves on the Board of Governors for Common Place, an organization founded by her father-in-law.
