4. Overview of the Editorial Process
The GVCFI Research Journal employs a rigorous editorial process for reviewing conceptual papers, research articles, literature reviews, and other submissions. The process ensures the highest quality of published works, promoting academic excellence and enriching the scholarly community.
a. Pre-Selection:
If there are clear suspicions of fraud, the article will be rejected without the possibility of resubmission. Fraud includes instances where portions or the entire text have been previously published elsewhere, cases of plagiarism, or suspected falsified data. Authors are notified of the final decision made by the editorial team, either including the article in the review process or rejecting it, along with the reasons for the decision. Authors whose articles have been rejected for reasons other than fraud can choose to resubmit their work for a second and third time. If the article is still not considered a good fit for the journal after the third attempt, the author is prohibited from resubmitting the work.
b. Peer-Review:
If the article passes the pre-selection, it is sent for peer-review to two or three professionals experienced in the respective field. This stage typically lasts between four to six weeks, depending on the article's complexity and the availability of experts. The final decision of the peer-review process can be of three kinds:
Rejected: This decision indicates major concerns over the quality of scientific materials presented in the paper. Reasons for rejection may include serious methodological issues, lack of clear contributions to the advancement of the field, or an inability to interpret research results in a scientifically fruitful way. Each reviewer provides a list of reasons that led to the rejection of the article.
Rewrite and Resubmit: Most articles fall into this category, showing promise but requiring further work. Reviewers provide recommendations, and authors are encouraged to rewrite their articles and begin the submission process again. Articles that are resubmitted will undergo the editorial process from the beginning and will be subjected to peer-review by the same or different reviewers. An article can be rewritten and resubmitted three times. If, after the third attempt, the article is still not suitable for publication, the authors will be prohibited from resubmitting their work.
Accepted (with no or minor changes): This decision indicates that the article, with minor modifications, is suitable for publication. Authors receive the decision along with suggestions from the peer reviewers. After incorporating the alterations, the article proceeds to the next stage.
5. Formatting
Before publication, all accepted articles undergo a formatting stage to ensure compliance with the requirements of GVCFI Research Journal. Authors are asked to adhere to the formatting requirements during the initial submission. However, accepted articles may require minor alterations in format and style. Once the editorial team agrees on the final version, a copy of the article is sent to the authors for approval before proceeding to publication.
6. Publication
After formatting, articles set for inclusion in the upcoming semi-annual issues will be sent for printing and made available online. GVCFI Research Journal is published semi-annually, releasing issues every January and July.
All articles intended for inclusion in a specific issue should be submitted at least one month before the publication date. The publication months for each issue are as follows:
January Issue:
Submission Deadline: December 1
Publication: January 31
July Issue:
Submission Deadline: June 1
Publication: July 31
This semi-annual publication schedule ensures timely dissemination of research findings and allows for a consistent flow of high-quality content for our readership.
