Our vision is to gradually build on providing opportunities for Afghan women in Shepparton and create a space that empowers Afghan women to take part in leading their own community members to thrive. 

Founded by local afghan women in 2024, and run by local volunteers of all ages. GVAWAS is a non-profit association that brings people together through cultural celebrations, language support, women's circles, and local partnerships.

Our mission is to empower afghan women to actively participate in the community, raise their voices, connect with others, and access the help and resources they need to thrive.
